Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
I started DJ with TJ in 2000 & my first gigs where in bars. I played at Conference Cafe on Thursday nights for about 2 years & Brunswick Bowling Alley (that is what it was called at that time) on Saturday nights for cosmic bowl. I stopped playing at Conference Cafe & shortly thereafter I started receiving calls from people, that I had met at Conference Cafe, about playing for their weddings. I realised that this was an opportunity to continue doing what I love & not have to be in a bar.
What is your primary product or service?
Music entertainment for any occassion; weddings, family/class reunions, school dances, tail-gating and celebration parties.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was always considered the class clown & I have always loved to make people laugh (even if it is at my own expense). Music is life!!! By this I mean, it is always changing...just like life. Without music, life would be dull & boring. When you are working around the house, working in the yard or driving your car, music makes the work not so unenjoyable or the drive home so boring!! A great song in the morning while getting ready for work or in the car on your way to work, can determine if you are going to have a GREAT day or if you are just going to get by. I feel the same about all events! I want to play the songs you want to hear & make your event the funnest it can possibly be!!!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I am a very friendly person & will talk to anyone about anything. However, when I am hired to play music...I play music. I don't get on the mic & talk to hear myself (I do that in the shower). At the same time, when the need arises, I will make announcements when needed. I provide services at an affordable price for any budget. I provide top of the line services & I am willing to go out of my way to make every event memorable & as close to perfect as I can.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I am the owner & DJ. When you call, you can expect to talk directly to me. I set everything up & break everything down. I have a daughter that I hope will take interest in music one day & if she does, I will gladly turn the business over to her. (I am crossing my fingers!!!)
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, check or Pay Pal. If Pay Pal is used, there is a service charge.
Which areas do you service?
I am willing to travel to any location. I have played in College Station for a wedding, San Saba, TX for a military welcome home party, Big Spring, TX for high school dances & Midland, TX for a wedding. I am a big baseball fan & Field of Dreams is one of favorite movies, so: 'If you need music, I will come!'
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Todd Jordan (TJ)
What are your hours of operation?
I am always available by phone, email or text.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The best compliment that I receive is when I ask someone how they found/heard about me is when they tell me that another person I DJ'd for referred them to me.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
